I am a New Zealand based photographer and printmaker, who lives in Matakana, Auckland. My photographic journey started in 2016 while rewriting my life with a chronic health condition - fibromyalgia.
I am primarily inspired by the natural world, especially the stories told by our native birds. My aim is to advocate for New Zealand native birds through my work. Changing hearts and minds one human at a time, so that my photographs don’t become just a record of a growing list of extinct endemic bird species.
A diverse range of my work has won awards at national and international photographic salons. Some of my bird images appear in conservation publications, calendars, exhibitions.
Birds can be amazing teachers when we take the time to just quietly and respectfully observe them.
Creative Process
“In camera capture” is the start of my creative process, not usually the destination. The artist in me endeavours to enhance a feeling, mood or discovery using post processing software, just like a painter uses all the tools at their disposal. I then choose one of the following processes to complete my work; photographic print,  platinum palladium print, photo gravure or cyanotypes. Each process renders a different feel to the final work.
